The Squarell Driver Awareness Panel (DAP) makes drivers aware of their driving style. It’s an Incab "on the job” assistance tool to save fuel with direct results.
DAP actively monitors the vehicle CANbus and analyzes the CANbus data. The DAP is calculating and comparing the data against fleet and vehicle performance standards. When appropriate the DAP will signal good or bad driving behaviour during the trip. This method makes the driver aware of his driving style and let him act accordingly. Various Squarell algorithms are implemented like harsh driving and braking, high RPM and anticipated driving.
Example: Harsh Acceleration & Harsh Braking
In excessive use like harsh acceleration, the fuel consumption of a vehicle is up to 6 or 7 times higher, compared to a steady driving style. The Driver Awareness Panel shows the driver by lighting a red LED when the style of driving is excessive. He must adjust his driving style accordingly. On the graphic below you can see a testtrip, showing the LED signal on the DAP when the acceleration is excessive.
A solution for every vehicle and fleet
Vehicles are available in all types and kinds, from diesel and petrol to LPG. Not even mentioning the displacement, number of cylinders and turbo chargers. The engine dynamics are different for every type of vehicle. Squarell customizes the configuration for each supported vehicle. The concept is to change driving style easily, understandable and make more mileage on the same amount of fuel.
